Activities IN The Vosges AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

At Cabanes Nids des Vosges, we are committed to making our site a vehicle for raising awareness about the region, biodiversity, and its resources. We work hand in hand with the Vosges department and the Grand Est region to promote local tourism and contribute to the attractiveness of our region.

The Cabanes Nids des Vosges are nestled on the Champdray plateau, at an altitude of 811 meters in the heart of the Vosges massif. An ideal starting point for exploring a uniquely rich region: lakes, ridges, deep forests, Alsatian villages, wine routes, historical heritage, thermal spas…

The Vosges and the Grand Est region have something to offer for every season, every desire, and every age. But before you set off on your adventure, take the time to relax. The forest is already here.

Sylvotherapy & Forest Bathing

Let yourself be guided by a certified guide for a sensory immersion in the heart of the Vosges forest.

The sound of wind in the firs, the scent of resin, a living silence – forest bathing is a practice of deep reconnection with nature, guided and accessible to all ages 3 and up.

A half-day for a group of 1 to 6 people, available from April to October.

By reservation, €150 for the group.

Guided hikes & walks

Embark on a discovery of the Champdray plateau and the Vosges forest, accompanied by a mountain guide.

In summer for panoramic views, in winter with snowshoes provided: suitable for all levels and preferences.

The marked hiking trails start directly from the estate, including a treasure hunt for families and younger guests.

By reservation, €150 for a group of 1 to 6 people.

Nature & Relaxation Area on the Estate

On the property, children will find a secure play area, a badminton court, a small playhouse, and outdoor games for everyone.

The village of Champdray is within walking distance: a pétanque court, local products, old Vosges farmhouses, a church, a panoramic viewpoint over the Spiémont, and an orientation table.

And for those who simply don't want to leave (these are often the best stays): lounge in your private heated Nordic bath, then enjoy a session in the sauna in the renovated old Vosges farmhouse, read perched above the canopy, or watch birds from your terrace. Sometimes, the best activity in the Vosges is doing absolutely nothing at all.

Alsace and the Wine Route

Make the most of your stay and head over to the other side of the ridges: Alsace is just 1 hour and 20 minutes away, and it's well worth the trip.

Half-timbered villages, terraced vineyards, perched castles, Christmas markets among the most beautiful in Europe… The Alsace Wine Route winds its way between Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, Colmar, and their surroundings, with the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle and the Butterfly Garden as a bonus.

Our partner, Domaine Dirringer, welcomes you for a wine tasting in their cellar in an authentic setting.

Épinal Imagery & the Planetarium

30 minutes from the estate, Épinal offers two unexpected cultural getaways.

The Imagerie d'Épinal, founded in 1796 and listed as a historical monument, traces three centuries of French popular illustration with its engravings of the Napoleonic Wars and its iconic images.

The Épinal Planetarium, meanwhile, takes young and old under its dome to explore the mysteries of the Universe during weekly themed sessions. Two very different ways to travel without leaving the region.

Gérardmer & its events

9 km from the cabins, Gérardmer is the quintessential lake town of the Vosges.

Throughout the year, it comes alive : International Fantastic Film Festival in January, fireworks over the lake in summer, Daffodil Festival in spring, International Triathlon in September. Its aquatic and wellness center, casino, cinema, bowling alley, and numerous shops also make it a convenient stop for anyone looking to combine nature and entertainment.

All information at theGérardmer Tourist Office.

Lake Gérardmer & Water Activities

Gérardmer Lake, the largest natural lake in the Vosges mountains,is just a few minutes' drive from the estate.

Canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, pedal boating... The ASG watersports center offers a wide range of boats for rent by the hour or half-day, suitable for all skill levels and ages.

In winter, the Vosges massif offers beautiful family ski resorts within easy driving distance, as well as trails for snowshoeing from the Champdray plateau.

Tree-top Adventure, Via Ferrata & Thrills

For those looking for a different kind of high-altitude experience: theAcro'Sphère in Gérardmer offers several tree-top adventure courses and via ferrata routes across spectacular natural sites: cliffs, century-old trees, and zip lines over water.

Green Mojo, in La Bresse, offers electric all-terrain scooter rides on self-guided geo-guided routes, leading up to Hohneck and into the vast expanses of the Hautes-Vosges. Available for ages 12 and up, with an initial snow circuit offered in winter.

The Garden of Berchigranges

A short walk from the estate, this former quarry, transformed into a botanical paradise, is one of the Vosges' lesser-known gems.

At 700 meters above sea level, the Jardin de Berchigranges is home to species from the beaches of the North Sea as well as from the heights of the Himalayas: a unique botanical stroll, peaceful and away from the crowds.

The High Mines of Thillot

An underground adventure to experience with family or friends.

Equipped with a helmet and headlamp, you enter the ancient copper mines of the Dukes of Lorraine : 300 meters of galleries to explore, tool marks, colorful concretions, and the spectacular Beam Chamber.

An immersive visit, historical and accessible, in a 9°C atmosphere. Ideal for hot summer days.
